  1. Are you registered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)?
    Yes, we have been a member for many years and have an excellent report with them.
  2. Do you protect the floor?
    Yes we do, we have special runners to protect the hardwood floors or carpets and will protect the traffic area as much as you want.
  3. Are my goods insured against damage?
    We carry cargo protection at 30 per pound, maximum $50 per article. However, if you own insurance company does not cover you, we can arrange for protection for you with our own Insurance Company. Your walls and floors are totally insured against damage.
  4. Do you supply boxes?
    We rent moving cartons for you to do your own packing, we are very much into recycling.
  5. Do you have senior's discount?
    Yes, we do have special rates for seniors.
  6. Do you supply wardrobes?
    Yes we do, the driver will bring them in on the day of the move, and while the movers are loading your furniture, you pack the hanging clothes from your closets into the wardrobes, then unpack them at the new home. This is a NO Charge service.
  7. Do you shrink wrap the furniture?
    Yes, we will shrink wrap all upholstery.
  8. Do you charge travel time?
    Yes we do charge 1 hour travel time, 1/2 hour in the morning to arrive at your present home and 1/2 hour at the end of the day, to get back to our warehouse.
  9. Do you move pianos?
    Yes we do, Dorcy's specializes in moving pianos. We have a piano moving crew with minimum thirteen years experience.
Questions Related to Long Distance Moves
  1. How much will it cost me?
    Charges are based on weight and mileage.
  2. How do you charge for packing?
    We can charge by the carton or based on weight whichever is cheapest for the customer.
  3. How long does it take to get there?
    We follow a transit time guide based on weight and mileage.
  4. Are my goods insured?
    Your goods are automatically protected by cargo protection, however, this is not replacement coverage. We can make arrangements for you to have your goods protected with replacement protection for a charge.
  5. If I do my own packing, are my dishes insured?
    Owner-packed cartons are not covered against breakage, however, if the outside of the carton shows we were negligible, we would recommend you note on the inventory that the carton was damaged, and unpack while the driver is still in your home.
  6. Do you have storage?
    Yes, we do have storage available if your new home is not going to be available in time. Your furniture can be stored in Edmonton with us, or we can arrange to have your goods stored at a destination with another Allied agent.
  7. How do I know how much it is going to cost for my move?
    We have consultants who come out to your home and take note of what you need packed and moved and give a written estimate which is guaranteed within 10%.
  8. Do you provide boxes?
    We sell you cartons for you to do your own packing. These cartons are sold to you as you pick them up from our office at a very reasonable price.
  9. Do you move only to certain places?
    We move your goods to anywhere in the world, and we can take care of everything from your present home until your goods are delivered to your new home and unpacked.
  10. How do I prepare for this full service move?
    Pack your suitcase with your overnight toiletries and medications prior to the packers arrival and we will take care of everything else for you.
